While students have been steadily saving money thanks to the continued introduction of Open Educational Resources (OER) at Douglas College, 2021 was a milestone year:
Douglas College Students saved over $1 Million on textbooks.
Those savings are just in one year, amounting to over $3 Million in total savings since the movement was introduced to the College in 2013. That means in 2021 alone, 8,541 students had more money in their pockets for important things like groceries, and could spend more time focusing on their studies instead of working extra shifts.
By transitioning to OER, faculty are making a difference in the lives of our students. Thank you for your continued support and contribution to the progress Douglas College has made towards facilitating Open Education.
Wishing you all a Happy New Year and here’s to even more progress in 2022!
